How do you disconnect a sway bar on a Rubi?
So once you turn on electric motor it will disconnect the sway bar by sliding a splined coupler inside (making the sway bar “disconnected”). However, you need to kill the power to the motor and engage the magnetic lock to keep the splined coupler open to keep the sway bar disconnected (I don’t believe that video you posted explained this part).

I welded a 3/8″-16tpi nut to the inside of the plate, allowing the 3/8″ carriage bolt to thread thru. The the carriage bolt fit perfectly in the cup of the larger bore, but the hole I drilled was ever so slightly off, so I ground down about 1/8″ of the OD on the carriage bolt.

When engaged the gears are joined by a splined collar, making the bar act as one long bar. When disengaged the collar moves to one side allowing the bars to rotate independently of one another.

Only can use it in 4×4 hi or lo. if get to about 19mph it will re-engage. when in 4×4 just tap button it with disconnect internalley so both ends with rotate independently. I think he means physically how does it disengage as I was wondering the same thing.

JKS are manual – you have to crawl under Jeep and disconnect and tie up. The benefit to a system like JKS is it isn’t regulated by speed so you can leave them disconnected in 2wd as well.
