Why does my Nav screen go down when I exit the car?
Mine does something different but similar I guess. Normally you exit the vehicle, the screen goes down and it shuts off. When you get back in, the screen goes up and goes back to whatever source/channel you were on before. Sometimes when I go back into the car and turn it on, the screen will stay down/off.

Radio and screen would just turn itself off at anytime, and the music that I had down loaded onto a thumb drive would not work unless I rebooted the complete system. When [the screen goes blank] you lose all information on your radio, phone, navigation system very annoying.

The service bulletin I was thinking of recommends a software update, but that wont help with your problem. You are correct. The screen you are seeing is the radio reboot or initial start up screen. if you can see that and the rear view camera is working, then all power and grounds should be ok.

Never actually tried that on any customer’s cars, if they stick we just replace the latch. The “module” is actually the “Driver’s Door Module”. The drivers door module is basically just the switch panel with the window and door locks in it. That part needs to be programmed if it’s replaced.

I too have similar problem with the recent 2005 Armada I just bought. Nav/GPS/Radio Screen that shows the reverse Camera is not getting power. The AC panel works, but the Nav/GPS screen does not turn on. DVD does not power too. it doesnt turn on at all.
