This could be a unrelated problem but my driver heated seat also stoped working, the light flashes then turns off but the seat never heats up. Could this be a simple fuse problem or something serious? The 4×4 issue could be the T case shift motor, the transfer case control module, the dash switch, or a fuse controlling any of the above.

If all your 4×4 fuses and wiring are intact with no lights at all your tccm would be the first thing to do. If you notice afterward that it shows a normal 2 hi but malfunctions in 4wd try the steps above. Any noise along the way pinpoint it and have that component inspected.

If you don’t shift it into neutral, the 4wd light will continue to flash and won’t get into gear. Seems to be a common occurrence on these trucks. Dodge dealers recommend engaging 4-lo, then back in 2-wheel drive, then back in 4-wheel drive hi (4H). This sequence apparently resolves the problem.

Is the 4WD light working in the snow?

The 4wd light was working just fine. Once I pulled onto my road I needed 4wd again so I pull the lever, hear the quiet clunk, but no light. Playing around with it a little more while putting the plow on in preparation for the increasing snowfall it IS going into 4wd, but no light. Any ideas? Keep in mind it is snowing and I have no garage.
