-insert your outer blocker ring, your new lined syncro (lubed in atf), and your inner syncro part not shown and slide them down until it bottoms out on the slider on the shaft as shown. -next, lube the big bearing in atf, slide it on (non press fit), slide on the fifth gear drive as shown, then put the locking c clip onto the mainshaft.

When did Ford stop using the T5 in a Mustang?
1996-98 Ford dropped using the T5 in the V8 4.6L Mustang, but kept them the 3.8L V-6 Mustangs. The T5 behind the 3.8L is a 3.35 first gear set with a .68 over drive. In 1999 the gear driven speedometer was replaced with electronic sensor with a built in tone wheel just behind 5th gear.
