What’s the best way to timing a TJ?
Best way, pull the #1 plug then put your finger in the hole and bar the engine over by hand until you feel air being pushed by your finger. Then look at the notch on the crankshaft pulley and line it up with the 0 or tdc mark on the timing cover and that will be top dead center #1.
Why is my tie rod not moving on my Jeep?
Your Jeep’s tie rod and tie rod ends should be next on the hit list. To check these, use a jack to lift up the front of the Jeep and then have a friend grab one wheel and twist it back and forth. If the tie rod doesn’t move, but the ends seem to wiggle, then they most likely need replacement.

How long does it take to troubleshoot a Jeep Wrangler?
You should be able to complete troubleshooting the transmission of your Jeep Wrangler within an hour. Check the level of transmission fluid in your Wrangler if you find it difficult or impossible to shift gears. A low level of transmission fluid can cause your transmission to overheat and burn up.
