My problem is known to Jeep. They are looking into it. They have the same issue with the Caliber and the Wrangler. Some people are, like me, unable to lock the doors until they put the key back in the ignition then remove it again then are able to lock the doors.

I park the truck to get out. I put it in “Park”, turn off the truck, remove the key, open the door, get out of the truck, close the door et then I try to lock the doors using my remote key but nothing happens. I can try 1, 2, 3 or 10 times to lock/unlock, nothing happens at all.

Do you lock the door with the key fob?
I never lock my doors with the key fob, but always lock it with the door button. You did not mention whether the door button to lock the doors worked or not. I would think that if the door button locks the doors, then it is not the TIPM but the remote key module which is separate.

It will work every now and then, but for the most part it doesn’t we have to unlock it from inside manually, and make sure it’s locked when leaving the jeep. pull the door panel off (super easy) and see if the actuator is loose or come off the door lock rod. very easy fix

The door lock circuit is actually in the passenger door. I have an issue with my 00 XJ where they will work only occasionally and I can hear one of the relays clicking.
