Why is my Jeep fob remote not working?

Guess it’s the WCM (whatever that is) within the Jeep. Wireless control module… Typically if a dealer needs to reset something there is another underlying cause… Not that I would have ANY idea what that is over the interwebz. Personally I have never had to reset a wcm to repair a key problem.

What to do if your WJ liftgate won’t open?

The door lock actuator is pretty cheap all considering and VERY easy to swap out on the wj liftgate… usually if you hear a whine, buzz noise its too late, the actuator is gone and this is generally the first step. There is like 1 torx screw 1 connector and it twists out of the door skin.

How to unlock the rear tailgate in a jeep?

If keyfob in rearpocket or withother keys or in wife’s purse rear button will not work…. Issue seems exclusive to rear gate button Your keyfob has to be pretty close to the liftgate, within three feet according to the 2012 Owner’s Manual, for the button on the liftgate to unlock the doors.

Where is the unlock button on a 2012 Jeep?

Your keyfob has to be pretty close to the liftgate, within three feet according to the 2012 Owner’s Manual, for the button on the liftgate to unlock the doors. The defect is getting even stranger. Sometimes when I’m behind the tailgate the locks cycle on and off without me even touching the button.

Why is the lift gate on my Jeep Cherokee not working?

Liftgate often will not close with the button. Have to manually close it against resistance of the hydraulics. Was told not to close it this way at purchase. Got recall card on the liftgate software, but the parts are not in yet. Too bad since the car is so often at the dealer for other %$#@& issues.

Why is my liftgate lock button not working?

The liftgate lock button is tied into the computer along with all the other locks. If they are working you may have a loose connection or bad switch. Mine went bad about 3 weeks ago. My dealer checked it out and determined that the button was bad so they ended up ordering a new one which I’m going to have installed tomorrow.

What’s the problem with the power lock on a jeep?

Actually voltage (max 11v) comes to connector when lock or unlock button has been pressed, but if I connect connector with actuator motor and hit lock button, then nothing happens. No problem with unlock button, motor works and spindle moves as should.

Why is the liftgate on my Jeep not closing?

Stop it from lowering so you can keep it open and at least use it at that less than fully open position and it will switch off and go into manual only mode. It won’t shut by any of the electrical options and you will have to manually shut it then also. All fixed from the dealer…contact issue.
