What does SERV 4WD mean on Jeep?
The “Service 4WD System” message indicates a problem with the 4WD system that should be properly diagnosed and repaired. When the ignition key is turned from OFF-RUN-START and is released back to the RUN position after the vehicle starts, the 4WD warning light should go on for 1 to 2 seconds and then go out.

Rolling along highway at 65 all the lights flashed and SERV 4WD came on and 4WD LOW…though we maintained speed and didn’t appear impacted after we exitted at an offramp and started again was evident we were in 4WD from the pulling when turning and revving to higher than normal revs for low speed. Turned off car and back on and it cleared.

When did the traction control light come on on my Jeep Grand Cherokee?
They came out with an update and had it reflashed – it worked (no light and lorange worked) from Nov 2014 until Aug 2015. Now the Service 4wd is light is constantly on, no lo range – again. Service 4wd and traction control light came on. This is the 3rd jeep in the family to have this happen. Never been off road.

Now just have to take to Jeep dealer to update the jeep service 4wd system light, not fixed. Service 4WD System light on, Traction Control light on (meaning traction control is off). Car runs and drives fine.
