Why is the door light on in my Mazda 3?
Click to expand… You probably have a faulty door sensor, unfortunately you have to replace the whole latch assembly as the sensor is built into it. Gone are the days when all you had to replace was a little pin switch. This is progress, NOT! it is just another cash grab.

How can I Turn Off the door ajar light?
Spray some WD40 in all the door latches. With the engine running and drivers window down, open and close each door several times. You may have to lube several times. Eventually the door ajar light should turn off. If not, you will have to remove each door panel and disconnect each door latch one at a time until the light goes off.

The culprit was an exposed wire in the door boot that would sometimes improperly ground itself with the metal door frame causing the door ajar light to turn on and off. So I finally took a day off from work and checked all the wiring because I wasn’t about to spend $1000 at the dealer for a new BCM.
