Why is cold air coming from heat vents?
We have forced air heat. The other day, we noticed it was drafty (our house is cold anyhow in general) and I found that cold air is coming out of the air vents when the heat is not on. When the heat is on, the warm air blows, but otherwise, it’s blowing cold air – it almost feels as if it’s A/C air.
Why does my car AC vent blow hot air when driving even?
Hot water is always present when the motor is running. There will always be some heat in the radiator/heat exchanger. When the heat is on there is hot water flowing but even off there will be some conduction in the water. If you are feel a significant amount of heat and it outside vent is closed, you might have a leaky heating valve.
Are there any cars that do not have AC vents?
Most cars do not have AC vents, only climate control vents. Which means that they blow what ever air is selected. There are exceptions. I had a 1980 Ferrari that did not come stock with AC.
Where are the heat vents in my house?
Yes, to both. The vents themselves are on the exterior wall. Some of them are above the basement, but most are above the garage. I had wondered whether the exterior wall thing had anything to do with it perhaps… Are the ducts at all accessable or are they sealed in the walls and floor?

Why is there no air flow in the upstairs vents?
I have recently seen several newer furnaces installed that appear to be set on a very low speed when the heat or air conditioning is on, when it should be at maximum. In that scenario, there may be a high enough volume of air to provide reasonable flow at the lower levels of the home, but not the upper floor.
Is it good to close vents in house?
Closing an HVAC vent doesn’t always have the positive impact one might think. Question: I had a new furnace and accessories replaced four years ago for my two-storey home, built in the 1980s. I’ve noticed that the basement and main floor receive a lot of heat and air conditioning, but the upstairs does not get much air force out of the vents.
