Why does my Suzuki VL250 intruder stall after Idle?

Why does my Suzuki VL250 intruder stall after Idle?

I do agree that it sounds like flooding, but it’s so extremely conditional that it’s extremely odd. The idle cycle itself is perfect, no popping or bubbling in the exhaust, no drops in RPMs, it just bogs and tries to die when you go to give it throttle after it’s been idling for 30s.

What to do when your bike stall after Idle?

If the bike has a fuel tap with an ‘off’ position, try turning the fuel off in a scenario where the stalling/flooding usually occurs and see if there is an improvement.

Why does my VL250 intruder stall after Idle?

When it’s hot, and I idle at a light for (usually) more than 30 seconds, it LOVES to stall. About 60% of the time high-revving will prevent it….but I look like a jerk and that isn’t good for the bike. If it dies, restarting only happens with it at WOT and it struggles to catch.

What to do if your bike Idles but bogs with throttle?

I will look during tomorrow times. If it idles fine but it bogs down with throttle, your high speed gas jet is probably clogged. Clean your carb and spray carb cleaner in all small passages, make sure air can flow through all ports no matter how small. Put it back together and it should run great.

What causes a bike to stall at idle?

The slightest air leak would upset idle mixture and cause stalling or high idle speed that cannot be adjusted with the throttle stop screw. I’d look at some simple stuff first, like the spark plug – which might fire OK at idle, but misfires under throttle?
