Why does my Subaru Forester sport not open?
This is the second time I’ve had this happen, but on my 2019 Forester Sport, my trunk won’t open. Regardless of which button I press (on trunk, on remote or in vehicle), the trunk does a quick triple beep and won’t open.

Then press the rear gate unlock button on your key/remote. If you have a regular key with transmitter (so no push button start), then you should only need to press the button once quickly (no need to hold, at least on my car). You can also try double-pressing the main unlock button, which should unlock all the doors and rear gate.

Where is the rear gate on a Subaru Outback?
Outside I can release the memory button and open the gate fully, which is very convenient. ’17 Outback Limited 3.6R in Venetian Red. On the dashboard, lower left driver’s side is a series of buttons in two rows. The top left is the button that opens the rear gate.
