Why does my Kia sun roof not close?
Took ours in today for new wheels, a seat cover, kaput cruise control and sunroof failing to close. Apparently, we use the sunroof too often… it rubs all the grease off. Click to expand… I’m beginning to suspect that they make it up as they go along.

When I close the panoramic sunroof it gets to about 2-3 inches from front and then opens again. Has anyone else experienced this before? I have a 2017 technology package. Going to look at owners manual, maybe there’s some note in there about sunroof operation.

Thanks Tino. Had a look where you suggested and saw the runners were dry. Sprayed some lithium grease in there and there was immediate improvement. I used my sunroof today for the first time in ages and it was quite slow to open. On closing it went so far then returned to the open position.
Is the sun roof on a Kia Venga working?
My Venga has one, in 2 years I’ve never even thought of opening it, so I don’t even know if it works. A complete waste of money but it came with the 3 spec. Even in West Australia we never used the sun roof on the Toyota Camry in 22 years.

If like mine, it should be bright, shiny, and bone dry. Bone dry bad, lubricated good. 4) Spray some lithium grease along the entire length of that rail. Repeat on the other side. 5) Open sunroof fully. Attempt to close the sunroof. It may not close on the first attempt, but should on the second with no fanfare or groaning.

Hi, I opened the sunroof for the first time since last summer only to find that when trying to close it starts and then at various different positions stops and reverses to open again. It does seam to be struggling to close as if it needed greasing or something.
