Why does my 7400 truck not get fuel?
It has a DT466 engine in it. If it sits more than a few days, it acts like it isn’t getting fuel. It takes several tries of cranking for 30 or more seconds each time to get it to start. Sometimes it will act like it wants to run while cranking, but dies as soon as the starter is let off.

Derating and now oil leaking! According to invoice UVC harness, 12 PIN UVC harness, crank filter, engine breather filter assembly, fuel rail pressure sensor, valve cover and/or gasket, electronic engine control sensor/regulator all replaced. Truck still derating. Oil sprays all over left side of engine.

You might be able to see with a flashlight in the tank but it is doubtful. Pressuring the tank with about 5 PSI will help find any leaks as Neverenough suggested. Sometimes the engine stops in the perfect spot where the lift pump is on the top of the cam and won’t pump manually.

How can I tell if my fuel supply is bad?
Check the glow plug relay. With a powerstroke engine, the voltage drops at least 3 volts, and if the relay is old the terminals inside get burnt amd the plugs dont heat enough to start it easily when its cold. Check the glow plug relay.
