Why are the lights on my license plate not working?

I cant believe no one can help sorry for bringing this post back to life but this is funny, im having the same problem my running lights, license plate lights are not working. hope you got this all figured out and i cant believe nobody chimed in on this. lol The only real possible solution is a short in the wiring somewhere.

It is green from copper corrosion… MAGIC! I soldered it back together, wrapped it up tightly in electrical tape, bundled the wires back together, wrapped them all in electrical tape and stuffed it all back together. Headed over to the passenger side – expecting to find another wire in need of repair, but the wires were fine.
