Why are the fuses on my 944 not working?
If you have an early 944, based on the 924 chassis, the fuses can look good, but may have too much resistance as a result of corrosion. Remove the fuses, clean the ends with a wire brush and try them again. Yes, never just look at the fuses.
Why are the lights on my Pelican not turning on?
Check your wiring where the headlight plug cables run down along with frame, they frey and you might have to cut back the plastic/shrink wrap to see the snapped wiring. My highbeams didn’t work initially and after changing the bulbs, I traced the wires back about 7-8 inches and cut the heatshrink back and found 2-3 wires just snapped in half.

Clutch does not work when hot wired. Inspect the wire’s connector for poor contact (corrosion or breaks). Check the negative ground wire from the clutch to the compressor’s body. If no problems are found you’ll need to verify if clutch is getting electrical power.

Why does my Pelican ignition make a squealing sound?
First thing to check is that the ignition box is making squealing sound while power is on, this indicates that the high power voltage is produced. If there is no sound check that the ignition box is getting correct voltage (Check the manual which terminal) If the voltage is much under 12V the ignition box will not sound “healthy”.
How to troubleshoot an ignition on a pelican?
Check the plug condition visually and clean the plugs with brass brush. Plug insulator may be cracked and thus “spark” is leaking to ground. Check visually that the breaker points open enough (refer to manual) when manually turning the engine (BE SURE THAT THE IGNITION IS OFF!!)
