Where does the vibration come from in a Nissan Patrol?
It feels/sounds like it is coming from the front passenger footwell area. It is worst between 80 and 100kmh and continues even when you put it in neutral and coast along. Wheel bearings are fine, wheels have been balanced and aligned, so that can be ruled out. There is no shaking or vibration through the steering wheel.

Yours sound like Westy is right with gearbox mountings. If not a mount somewhere. You could check your castor bushes. Also although probably checked when you got an alignment. Check your tie rod ends. If you are running muddies.. I am told they can be a mongrel to balance… Maybe not done well?

So-far I have replaced tyres-they were shagged anyway, front wheel bearings, rear shaft uni joints and now have the rear drive shaft in getting balanced and checked out as the new uni joints were too tight and didnt allow enough free movement, they were notchy so dont buy ebay ones.

What kind of tires do Nissan Patrol 4x4s have?
The car is a 91 GQ TB42 Manual, standard height, with 31″ tyres. Below 80 it is smooth as silk. Any ideas? I am going through the same thing so good luck, I am not being sacarstic but genuine as I know how frustrating it can be.
