When did I Buy my Hyundai Elantra used?
I own a 2010 Hyundai Elantra. Bought it used in 2014 with 61K miles on it. The car was great for me for a couple years, and required nothing besides regular maintenance and oil changes. In September of last year (2016), I got the timing belt replaced, along with the water pump, pulleys, and tensioners, as suggested in the user manual.
What causes a Hyundai Elantra to run rough at idle?
If a coil pack goes bad, it’ll cause a misfire and rough idle condition. Really, your Elantra will be running rougher at any RPM, but a misfire will be most pronounced at idle.
Why does my car belt squeal when I start it?
The squealing you heard is very typical of accessory belt squeal. Often times, the squeal occurs after starting the car and stops after a certain amount of time. The squeal is typically so loud that you immediately can tell there’s something wrong with the car.

Why does my Elantra make a squealing noise?
You will see a number of belts, all of which can squeal, none of which are the timing belt. The timing belt (unless an Accent is WAY different to my Elantra) is hidden/protected behind plastic covers on the side of the engine. The most likely culprit of squealing is the power steering belt, but any of them can do it.
