What noise does a BOV make?

Some BOVs have an exit vent that’s shaped like a trumpet so that the air under intense pressure can make a louder sound as it leaves the engine. It can produce a loud whoosh or hissing sound, which can be satisfying and will turn heads as you drive.
Why is BOV bad?
BOV Response The response of the BOV is reduced at low throttle openings. It may result in light cavitation from the turbocharger at low RPM. A vent to atmosphere BOV can also cause slight over-fueling between gear changes. This is because a portion of metered air is released from the intake system.

Why do some BOV flutter?
The flutter sound is caused by a blow off valve that reacts too slow and usually facilitates compressor surge. My old HKS SSQV used to do that, but then I switched to the Synapse Synchronic bov and my engine response was better and much less compressor surge was a result.
