Vintage 1978 Triumph Bonneville T140 For sale is a beautiful and original 1978 Triumph T140E Bonneville that i’ve had in my collection for a few years. This is one I said i’d never let go, but I need a new van, so sadly here it goes.
Where did the name Bonneville motorcycle come from?
The name Bonneville derives from the famous Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA where Triumph and others attempted to break the motorcycle speed records. The original Triumph Bonneville was a 650 cc parallel-twin motorcycle manufactured by Triumph Engineering and later by Norton Villiers Triumph between 1959 and 1974.
When did the Triumph Bonneville T140E come out?
Late 1978 Triumph Bonneville T140E. It has the Amal MKII’s with parallel head. Starts first kick and runs great. Sounds and looks beautiful. When did the last Triumph Bonneville leave the factory?
By the end of 1982 they couldn’t find the cash to pay wages and the last Bonneville made at Meriden left the factory in January 1983. Triumph didn’t give up – despite having no bikes to sell, they showed off a range at the NEC show in April.

Where can I get a Triumph Bonneville serviced?
Very clean and well sorted Triumph Bonneville. Lots of new parts including K70 Dunlop tires and new tubes. Fork seals, Boyer electronic Ignition, Battery, Valve job, Pistons and hepolite rings, chain. That the major stuff, also a lot of minor stuff done as well. Bike is serviced and road ready. Can be seen locally in Hunterdon County NJ.
