Fantastic vehicle for the family to tour the country. Has never let us down and gets good fuel economy 9l/100km. I have over 260,000 km and it still runs perfect just with minor maintenance ie oil changes and filters. Purchased in August 2015 for $7,000.00. Similar opinion? Is there any regular maintenance on a Toyota Tarago?
Due to the short bonnet and large V6 engine access to engine components is very limited.Apart from scheduled, regular maintenance, all engine related repair is labour intensive. Even things like spark plugs is a tedious job, and these cars are getting old with usually high milage. Alternator replacement means radiator out.
Is the sound proofing on a Toyota Tarago good?
Sound proofing is poor with a lot of road noise entering the cabin. Engine is also noisy when revving. On the maintenance side, good luck, toyota or not they fail, and any repair on these engines is a absulote shocker. Cant get to anything. Alternator replacement, radiator out. How many kilometres do you get out of Toyota?
My parents have the ’10 Rav4 2.4L CV 4WD (auto); highway is about 10-11L/100kms and about 12-13L/100kms start-stop driving (and probably less figures for manual). So everyone is doing about the same. The 2.4L is in fact less economical than the V6 Rav.
