How good is the Yamaha Raider?
I loved the look of the ’08 Raider S (Candy Red) and just had to have one. I was a bit concerned about the handling of the raked bike, but it handles very well. Engine has plenty of power (even riding two-up). I have taken the bike on 5 trips of more than 1300 miles and have had a great time.

if you go long distances, you probably want a comfortable seat (the Yami seats are kinda hard), and maybe some highway bars or pegs to rest your feet. so it depends. if you’re the kind of person who can get by with minimum gear, the Raider works fine. if you’ve got a lot of cr** to haul, go with another bike.

The bottom line on the Raven Raider was a lot less. And while I think the certain bikes looks a bit classier overall, the Raider’s laid back seat position puts your fists in the wind. The bike has superb neutral handling, an absolutely fabulous motor, a finish and build that exudes quality, and don’t forget Yamaha reliability.
