Can you upgrade LED headlights?
LED headlights are increasing in popularity, too. The general rule is if you have a halogen bulb currently installed and you want to upgrade to LED, it won’t be road legal. It’s classed as a kind of headlight modification, as you’re switching halogen technology to LED technology.

- Clean your headlights with a headlight restoration kit.
- Retrofit your headlights & fog lights.
- Buy premium halogen bulbs.
Why are Aftermarket LED headlights illegal?
Because of this, there tends to be a mismatch between the LED replacement bulb and the vehicle’s reflector- this is what creates that dangerous glare. For now, there is no regulation in the U.S. that allows manufacturers to design LED low-beam replacement bulbs that pair correctly with vehicles’ reflectors.
Can I put LED bulbs in my stock headlights?

How do I know if my LED headlights are bad?
If it still doesn’t light or lights very dimly, connect the alligator clip leads from the outside of the battery holders to the LED. This will apply 3 volts. Repeat the test, reversing polarity if needed. If it doesn’t light with any of these connections, the LED is bad.

The harness includes an extra pigtail that you can tap into any switched power source on your truck to run the new DRL’s. Unlike other harnesses out there – this one does NOT require the extra Morimoto MotoControl relay harness – so much less wiring to run under the hood. DRL’s will always been on at full intensity with this harness.
