Can you turn a crank without a timing belt?
If you want to move the crank without the timing belt first take the plugs out so there is no chance of air compression snapping the crank over while you’re turning it. There is still the chance you could hit and bend some valves. If the plugs are left in that air compression could give enough force to do damage.

Is it OK to drive without an A / C Belt?
The only ones that are not ok to drive with out is the Timing belt and the WaterPump/Alternator belt. Power Steering is Optional aswell… but I wouldn’t drive without it. Click to expand…
Can a crank bolt be removed from a Toyota V-8?
An impact gun can usually remove the crank bolt, but the pulley may still need to be held in place.
