Uterine sarcoma is a type of cancer that starts in the muscular wall of the uterus (myometrium). The risk factors for uterine sarcoma include radiation to the pelvis and being African American. There are no screening tests for uterine sarcoma for women who don’t have symptoms.
How do you know if you have cancer of the uterus?
If you have symptoms, your doctor may perform an endometrial biopsy or a transvaginal ultrasound. These tests can be used to help diagnose or rule out uterine cancer. Your doctor may do this test in his or her office, or may refer you to another doctor.
