Are there HD cams on a Harley se 585?

I haven’t done any research on the HD SE 585 cams but IMO I wouldn’t spend the money on any HD cam. HD has to comply with the EPA requirements and that has an effect on the performance of the HD SE cams. If you are looking at a cam mod it is best to go aftermarket.

What kind of Cam does a 95 ” Harley Davidson use?

I did the 95″ conversion on my 2000 FXDS back in 2001 to SS570 gear, wiseco 10.5 to 1 then later changed out to SE 10.25 teflon skirted pistons… Head work , ported and flowed with Manly valves and springs.

Is the s & s585 a good HD CAM?

The S&S585 is an awesome cam by the way. I don’t disagree that going after market would be a better choice but I don’t think that all HD cams meet EPA standards at all. If that were the case they wouldn’t have put the 259E cams in the 120 to make it compliant.

Which is better chain drive or S & S cam?

Most S&S cams have higher lift than stock and are designed to take advantage of the extra flow of ported stock heads or S&S Super StockĀ® heads. Due to the high lift of these cams, S&S adjustable pushrods are recommended. Not all grinds are available in the chain drive version.
