Are there any problems with the 3126 cat engine?
Hi folks I am interested in hearing from people that own a 3126 cat engine and have had problems with them expesially if the have dropped a valve.

Also replaced alternator at 300,000 My Cat 3126 has about 425,000 miles on it. It uses less than 2 qts.of oil every 9,000 miles. We keep the FL70 tagged at 26,000 lbs and do not exceed 65 mph running about 1700 rpms.

By the way my engine in Serial# HEP 280486. I tapped into the high pressure oil galley and put a 4000 psi gage in. Had a helper crank the engine while I watched. The pressure started up kind of slow and then quickly headed toward max on the gage.

It has 216,000 miles, and was gone through and spec’d and gaskets and rings were replaced at 198,000. I am converting the bus into a camper, to go across the country with my buds. I have done some research and found out that its not a superior engine, or that it doesn’t last past 200k.
