All DC Public Libraries will remain closed through the duration of the public health emergency. The Library will be locking all book drops so please keep borrowed items until the Library reopens. All late fees will be waived and hold expirations will be extended.

Can you print at DC library?
With a library card or DC One Card, customers can print up to 20 pages, per library account, per day for free. Those pages can be in color or black and white.
Is the Library of Congress open to the public?

Can you borrow books from the Library of Congress?
Please note: Individuals do not have permission to borrow directly from the Library of Congress. You must go through your public library or university library in order to borrow from us.

A: You are welcome to bring covered, nonalcoholic beverages and food to the library, however eating is not permitted while at the computers.
Can you return books to any DC library?
Returning Items You may return borrowed items at any DC Public Library; it does not matter where you checked them out. All digital titles are automatically returned at the end of their lending period.
