Why is my Nissan Xterra clutch fan overheating?
Before you spend the money to replace the radiator, check out the clutch fan. That was what caused my overheating. As soon as I replaced it, all was well and it hasn’t overheated since. If it is working properly, you should hear a definite roar coming from under the hood when the engine is hot.

Where is the booster fan on a Nissan Xterra?
If you are driving with the A/C on max all the time in hot weather, you should ad an external booster fan in front of the condenser behind the front grille, this should be turned on by relay when the A/C compressor relay energizes. Some Xterra’s came with this from the factory.
