Why are the windows not closing on my Boxster?
My (987) windows close up when you re-engage the locking handle, they won’t however go up if you have manually opened the windows, using the electric window switch. They should close automatically, however if there’s a switch problem or you haven’t completely closed the roof on the dashboard switch then they won’t.
Where are the windows on a Porsche Boxster?
There’s a microswitch in the interior light unit where the manual catch engages. It’s the one that triggers the windows dropping. Sounds a bit odd what your indie is telling you…. This function should be there on all Boxsters. It certainly is on my 2002 (pre-facelift) and as the previous owner told you, it used to work!
What happens when you open the passenger side window?
When I put the car back in service the passenger side door window no longer auto-adjusts when you open and close. Previously, when opening the door with a fully closed window, the window would jog down about 1/4″ – 1/2″ when you lift the door handle and jog back to a fully closed position when the door shuts. The driver side door works fine.
How do you unlock the windows on a Boxster?
P.S. Not everyone knows this and it ‘may not’ work on older cars but if you hold the open/close button down on the key fob for 2 secs (or so) the doors will have locked and the windows will close. Hold the button down again for 2 secs and the car will unlock and the windows will drop. Hornetrider is correct.
When do you close the windows on a Boxster?
The final window close is done manually on a 2000 986. Later Boxsters (987> I think) fully close the windows once the hood is shut. What you describe is correct. The final window close is done manually on a 2000 986. Later Boxsters (987> I think) fully close the windows once the hood is shut.

Can You Drop the hood on a Boxster?
In my 2000 986, when I release the catch to drop the hood, the windows do automatically drop a couple of inches, but they then stay there and they do not raise automatically once the roof is down, I have to raise them. However when I then raise the roof, the windows do automatically raise up and fit to the correct position properly.
