Why are all the number plate lights not working?

Both number plate lamps, the third brake light, the interior boot light and the trunk lock all will not work. I suspect the rear sam. Changed battery about three months ago when old one died, but fault only showing up now. Can’t find any loose wires. I may have closed bootlid a bit hard night before probel first appeared.

Can you use colored light bulbs on a Mercedes Benz?

You can use colored bulbs but they should not be LEDs. The only way to properly add LED bulbs is to ad a resistor. We recommend replacing both bulbs at the same time. Light bulbs have work hours and the other bulb will most likely burn out soon. Open the trunk. Not necessary but it will be easier for you to work on.

Where are the fuses on a Mercedes Benz?

May be an easier repair if you have not already done so, check rear lid wiring harness occasionally wires may chafe or break inside hose at rear lid point. Simple enough to check and rule out. BTW should be posting here W209 CLK Class – Mercedes-Benz Forum

This is the entire fixture replacement which is a lot better than just replacing the bulb. This lasts longer than using an LED bulb on it’s own, as I’ve noticed regular bulb replacement fails a lot quicker. This can be used as a guide for W203 or 2001-2007 Mercedes C-Class Sedans.
