What will happen when you bypass the DPF of your truck?
Your truck likely will not pass if you are pulled over for state inspection for either safety or emissions. Removing the DPF causes EGR system problems, and removing the EGR system will lead to engine damage from excessive Exhaust Gas Temperature. Removing the DPF reduces the trade-in-value of your truck considerably.
Is removing DPF filter illegal?
Because of the cost involved, some motorists are opting instead to have them removed. It is illegal for drivers to use a car with the DPF removed, but it is not illegal for garages to take them out.
How does a DPF bypass the diagnostic system?
They are completely untraceable by diagnostics and bypass the existing system legitimately by connecting to the machines harness using genuine OE connectors and wiring. The microprocessor within the emulator transmits more acceptable sensor readings to the engines ECM via a CAN Bus network, eliminating your machines emission faults.
Do you need to remove the DPF for Def delete?
The DPF is a different thing all together, this is a Diesel Particulate Filter and we do not remove or bypass the DPF. Our DEF Emulator is configured to work with your DPF filter so there is no need to remove it. Some companies out there will tell you it must be removed in order for the DEF delete box to work.
