Can you reuse oil pan bolts?
It’s always best to use new bolts where indicated although it won’t be a dealbreaker for the oilpan unless they’re really stretched and out of spec. I replaced my sump gasket 3 years ago and re-used the same bolts and have never had an issue.
What is the name of the bolt on the bottom of the oil pan that has to be removed to change oil?
Look at the bottom of the engine oil pan. Around the bottom of the pan, you should see a single bolt. That’s your oil drain plug. (Some vehicle models use a similar round plug, which you can pull to drain the oil.)
What size socket do I need for oil plug?
3/8-inch
Place a 3/8-inch (0.9 centimeters) socket in the socket wrench, fit it over the drain plug’s nut and turn it counterclockwise. The oil drain plug should open easily, draining the used oil from the engine. Make sure to place a bucket and some newspaper under the car’s engine to catch all the draining oil.

How much torque does an oil pan have?
FYI, the torque spec on those oil pan bolts is 84 in/lbs according to the factory service manual (FSM). That converts to 7 ft/lbs. That’s hand tight. You shouldn’t be torquing down those bolts at all, especially with a torque wrench. If you are, then that’s why you’re breaking the bolt heads off.
