What is the purpose of the secondary fuel filter?
The secondary diesel fuel filter is the second filtration device that your boat’s fuel will pass through. This equipment is usually installed after the primary fuel filter and near the engine, where its main purpose is to catch any contaminants that the first filter may have missed.
What is the difference between primary and secondary fuel filter?
2. What is difference between primary and secondary fuel filters? Differences between primary and secondary filters vary from system to system. In general primary filters are used to separate water and larger particles (10-50 micron efficiency) while secondary filters are for final filtration (2-10 micron efficiency).
Are secondary fuel filters worth it?
With modern common-rail diesel engines having such fine tolerances, a secondary fuel filter is a must to ensure a batch of dodgy fuel doesn’t stuff your engine. All four-wheel drives have a fuel filter in them. So they will filter out exceptionally small particulates and debris.
How full should my inline fuel filter be?
It just needs to be full enough for the fuel to get out the oultlet side. The air bubble would go away if there were a problem with flow. If you put the filter straight up and down you would see the air go away pretty quick.
Why does my cat 3126 have low power?
Connect a clear plastic hose to the return to fuel tank hose on discharge end of fuel pressure regulator for clear stream of fuel coming from engine while engine at idle and high idle. If you have lot of air or foam in fuel clear line returning to fuel tank than that would cause low power.
Where does the oil go in a cat 3126 engine?
Cliff note version; engine oil is pressurized to around 3000 psi and sent to the fuel injectors (via HEUI pump) it uses that high pressure oil to push a piston inside the fuel injector (oil on top, fuel on bottom of piston) to atomize the fuel, the injectors are controlled by a solenoid on top of each.
Why does the cat 3126 have one solenoid?
The CAT design only has one solenoid where the Later Navistar design in the video has two. engine oil consumption via leaking piston sealing inside injectors. low power, oil breaks down and cannot be pressurized any more or is aerated. injector o-ring failure, causing cross contamation of fuel and oil, usually oil ends up in the fuel tank.
What does group diagnostic code cat 3126 tell you?
If any of the of group diagnostic code share active 232-03 5 volt supply above normal and 232-4 5 volt supply below normal. What this is telling problem is a wiring or pin terminal problem. Do not replace the sensor or ECM. Note: if the sensor has an integral connector the pin Connector cannot be removed.
