What does the flashing Def light mean on a Jeep Wrangler?
The flashing def light is a signal that there is a fault present. Not true. I don’t know where your info came from but likely from an uninformed dealer. When in proper working order you will never see the flashing def light.

It is a 2005 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.7 4×4. Thanks in advance. Do the headlights flicker aswell? If so, its a multifunction switch. If the headlights do not flicker, i’d be looking at a battery or altrenator.
Why is my odometer light flickering in my Jeep?
Checked battery with multimeter and it was good. Started engine and alternator charge function was good. Found one of the bolts on positive battery cable was a little bit loose – just enough to move the cable with pressure. Torqued all battery bolts down snugly. Have now driven for several days and over 100 miles without incident.
