What does the battery saver active message mean?

Why does my GMC Acadia say battery saver activated?
At some point, the message “Battery Saver Activated” came on in the DIC. The lights and radio stayed on, but I’m not sure about the HVAC. I’m curious what that means? I did some digging here and found a couple of old posts on the message, but nothing about why it would come on.
When do I get a battery saver message?

Where is the inside fuse box on an 08 Saturn?
There is a hush panel that covers the fuse box. The box is located on the outer part of the dash just above the passengers feet area.
