Is it normal for the radiator fan to stop running?
If no, then your engine was overheating, and that was a protective measure to cool it down. It must have stopped running after a while.. Get your cooling system checked. I would check the coolant sending unit sensor or a relay. (Keep in mind, it’s almost never the relay..) But if it does it when its hot its 100% normal for that to happen.
When does the cooling fan come on or off?
I’ve read that the cooling fan will run the whole time when either the A/C is on or the vent control is set to defrost, regardless of whether the engine is cold or hot. In my case, the cooling fan comes on when the engine is cold, even with the HVAC off and it will remain running at full speed when the engine is running, again with the HVAC off.
Why does the cooling fan come on when the engine is cold?
Every time I go to start the car after it has been sitting for an entire day and the engine is cold, when I turn the key to the “On” position, before the engine is even started, the cooling fan comes on. How is this possible when the engine isn’t even running and the engine is cold. Again, the HVAC is off.
Why is the radiator fan always running in a Peugeot?
So you don’t know if it’s the normal few minutes run or a permanent one when you park and walk away. Peugeot cars do that after driving for a long time without air con. They use electric radiator fan and it works for a couple of minutes when the engine is hot even if the engine/ignition is off.

What are the signs of a bad cooling fan?
Common signs include the engine running hot and cooling fans either not functioning or running all the time. 1. Engine running hot 2. Cooling fans do not function 3. Cooling fans stay on at all times Most modern vehicles use electric cooling fans to help pull air through the radiator so that it can keep the engine cool.
Why are my cooling fans running at all times?
3. Cooling fans stay on at all times. If the cooling fans are staying on at all times, this is another (less common) symptom of a possible problem with the cooling fan relay. If the relay shorts internally, it may cause power to be permanently switched on, which will cause the fans to run at all times.
