What causes poor def quality SPN 5246?
Your SPN 5246 is the speed derate for the the other 2 faults. In my experience, clogged doser valves are the #1 cause for SCR problems. Failed NOx sensors and NH3 sensors are common as well, but have their own fault codes. The first thing I would do id pull the DEF doser off and run the dosing test to see the spray pattern and measure the output.

I have a 2011 cascadia that started throwing this code 3364 improper def quality. The first time it did this was with 3/4 def tank full. I stopped and bought a small pump and pumped out about 14 gallons. Refilled and did a parked Regen and blinking light stopped and truck seamed normal.
