How much does it cost to rush at OU?
The fee to participate in recruitment is $100. You must pay the registration fee in order to be registered with OU Panhellenic.
Can you rush in the spring at OU?
This process occurs the first week of each fall and spring semester; however, chapters may recruit members throughout the academic year through a process known as “informal recruitment.” Informal recruitment begins one week after formal recruitment and all chapters are eligible to participate.
Is Greek life big at OU?
The University of Oklahoma has a HUGE Greek community and if you choose not to be a part of it, you will most likely hang out with non-Greeks.

The Oklahoma Panhellenic Association is the proud home of 11 NPC chartered sororities on the University of Oklahoma campus. With over 3,200 members, Panhellenic is the largest women’s student organization on campus.
What do you wear to a fraternity rush?
I would suggest going with some nice khaki shorts, and a well-fitting t-shirt or polo. Make sure your hair isn’t a mess, and please shave off the scraggly goatee. If you can pull off a beard, go for it, but if it’s “not quite there yet”, I would recommend going clean shaven.
What percentage of OU is Greek?
About 25 percent of students opt to join the school’s large Greek system, made up of more than 40 fraternities and sororities. In addition, there are more than 300 other student clubs and organizations. All freshmen are required to live on the school’s campus, which is also home to the National Weather Center.

OU is famous for being a party school. The university has attracted nationwide attention over the years for its Halloween Block Party, frat culture and spring Fest Season. The college was ranked as the No. 1 party school in the country by the Princeton Review in 2011 as well as Playboy Magazine in 2015.
What does a Panhellenic delegate do?
The Delegate attends monthly Council meetings and casts the chapter’s vote on all business matters. The Delegate is a crucial position who serves as a liaison between her chapter, other chapters and the larger sorority and fraternity community.

Each of our 56 active chapters is a member of one of our five Greek councils and each offers unique opportunities for personal growth and meaningful experiences to 29% of University of Oklahoma students.
How do frats decide bids?
When a group decides which new members they would like to join their organization, they give them a “bid,” which is an offer to join. When a student receives this bid, they are able to accept, deny or defer the bid to join that fraternity or sorority.
