How long does UT orientation take?
Programming for incoming fall term admitted students will be as follows: Freshman Orientation will be across three days, and Transfer Orientation programming will be across two days. If you are a summer school admitted student, programming for your online orientation will be on June 1.

The next step in your journey is to participate in UT Orientation, where you’ll get academic resources, campus resources and register for classes. It’s all at orientation, and it’s required for incoming students. Orientation registration for summer 2021 is now open.

Is UT orientation online or in person?
Due to the ongoing concerns of COVID-19, we have decided it is in the best interest of our incoming students and their families to transition all new student orientation sessions (June through August 2020) from in-person experiences to an online format. Your safety and well-being are our main priority.

What To Bring: Lightweight clothes: It is hot and you’ll be walking outside a lot. Shorts, t-shirts, and plenty of extra clothes in case you get too sweaty. Walking shoes: Seriously, you’ll be walking a ton.
What happens if I miss orientation?
What happens if students don’t attend Orientation? If you don’t attend orientation, it may be difficult to get academic advising. It can affect your course registration and limit the selection of classes available to you. The major departments set aside these dates/times to specifically meet with new students.
Do you have to pay for UT orientation?
You must pay for your orientation session when you register. If you receive a financial aid award, your payment will be deducted from your award. If your award does not have sufficient funds, you will have until the first day of classes to complete the payment.

When does registration close for UT Austin orientation?
Space is limited, so register early as sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for each orientation session closes at 11:59 p.m. CST 10 calendar days before the start of each session (see the dates below). You will need to go to the registration page to see which sessions still have space available.
When do I need to register for spring orientation?
You must be an admitted student and have paid your enrollment deposit in order to register for orientation. Check MyStatus to verify if you have paid your deposit. Registration closes 10 calendar days before the start of each session. (For Spring and Summer School Orientation, registration closes six calendar days prior to the session.)
What do I need to do before orientation at UT?
If you’re planning to take Calculus I (M408C/K/N/R), you are required to complete the UT Math Assessment before your orientation session. You must purchase the online Math Readiness Package that will provide online learning modules and the proctored assessment.
When do I get my mystatus information from UT?
