How do you wash a sponge cloth?
Sponges:
- Wash in your dishwasher on the top rack – No Dryer Heat Setting.
- Wash in the washer machine on light setting with other dish towels.
- Soak in DILUTED bleach water for 30 seconds-1 minute.
- Wet and wring out after every use.
- Recommended not to dry in the dryer unless it’s no heat setting.
- Do Not Use Fabric Softener.
How long do sponge cloths last?
Cellulose sponge cloths can be washed and reused for up to 6 months (on average). You can also cut them into smaller pieces to make each sheet last twice or even 4 times as long!
Can you put sponge cloths in the washing machine?
Yes you can, we recommend in the washing machine at 30 degrees on a short wash with similar household cloths. We do not recommend using detergent with our products.
Is washing dishes with a sponge sanitary?
“It’s the perfect environment for bacteria…you never totally rinse the food out of the sponge.” The good news is that the bugs residing in these sponges aren’t generally the ones that can make you sick. Egert did not find the common bacteria that cause foodborne illnesses, such as salmonella, E. coli and campylobacter.

The area of an average sponge is around 14.25sq inch/90sq cm-with a measurement of 4.75x3in/12×7.5cm.
