How do you manually enter a Mazda CX 5 key?
Follow these steps:
- Hold dead key fob near push-start button, within a 1-2 inches.
- Depress and hold brake pedal until vehicle starts.
- Wait for push-start button to flash green.
- Touch the back side of the key fob to the push start button (see Diagram)
- Confirm push-start button light is now solid green (no flashing)

Can you start a Mazda car without a key?
Starting the vehicle with a key that has not been reset is not possible. Mazda cannot guarantee the immobilizer system’s operation if the system has been modified or if any add-on equipment has been installed to it. To avoid damage to your vehicle, do not modify the system or install any add-on equipment to the immobilizer system or the vehicle.
