How do I install tunit?
INSTALLATION QUICK GUIDE
- Remove the vehicle engine cover. Allow your engine to cool and then remove the cover if it has one.
- Original plug is unplugged. Find the location of the plug using the instructions provided.
- Secure Harness and Tunit.

What does a tunit do?
The Tunit Optimum plugs into the OBD port (near the drivers seat) which is a 16 pin connector installed by all vehicle manufacturers that communicates with the ECU (Engine Management) . The Tunit works by leaving all original programming intact but then applying offsets to the signals coming to and from the ECU.
What is a tunit chip?
The Tunit chips is an externally installed computer that improves kWs, torque and fuel economy in diesel vehicles. The Tunit chip differs from Chipping (soldering a chip into the ECU) and Mapping, which completely erases the manufacturer’s software and uploads a new one.
How do I install a performance chip in my car?
Install a performance chip directly into the dashboard. Open up the glove compartment and unscrew the screws that hold the panel in place. You will now have access to the ECU box. Replace the stock chip with the upgrade by unclipping one and then fastening the other in its place.

Adjustment between Eco and Sport modes is readily available from the phone app and further fine tuning is accessible within those modes.
