How can I fix the bonnet catch on my Jaguar X type?
There is a simple fix for this. On the latch you will see the spring mechanism to the right of the claw part of the latch. Spray some lube on that then push it out towards the claw and the bonnet should close. Edited by Richard on 5/20/2010 at 5:32 PM EST

There’s a small switch under one of/both the latches. It fits directly under the latch, if you look down each one you’ll see it, just reach under and push the switch back into place, it’ll click in, no need for screws. Happened to me as well. 5 min fix. Is the bonnet shut when the car is closed?
Customerreply replied 11 years ago yes it does and does not appear to any different than the other side, I’ve even wound the bumper in just in case it was too high.it appears that the bonnet is shut when its closed but it seemes to bounce open at the slightest jolt, Tried WD40 to no avail
Why is the bonnet open on my E350?
When I first got my E350 I fell foul of this. Bonnet looked closed from outside. Cured mine by opening the bonnet again and slamming it with my hands over the catches to make sure they hit home. Hi, I had the same problem on mine and realised a quick fix.

Where is the release latch on a Jaguar X type?
Jaguar Technician Vocational, Technical or Trade Scho 16,754 satisfied customers Hood released on the driver’s side but stuck down on the hood released on the driver’s side but stuck down on the near side. the release latch is on the driver’s side which works ok. any ideas about how to open hood please.
