Can fuel injected cars get flooded?
Flooding a fuel injected car is more difficult than flooding one with a carburetor but it is possible. There are a few different ways to flood a fuel injected engine. Damaged injectors or a cold engine that won’t start can result in a flooded engine.
Can a flooded car still work?
Minor flooding can lead to rust, mold and other issues. Your insurance company will likely try to fix your vehicle if it appears to have only minor damage. However, the car may be totaled out if a mechanic opens it up and finds more damage. Listen to the mechanic about if the car should be fixed or not.

If not, there is a bad wire under the fuse block to the battery; it should have constant power at one terminal. Take off the air cleaner and hold the throttle plate open with your hand. Spray some carburetor cleaner into the throttle body. Try to start the car for 2 seconds. If it starts, the fuel pump is the problem.

What happens to the fuel gauge when the tank is full?
As the water rises, the float arm rises until it shuts off the fill valve when full. In a fuel tank, as the fuel level rises, the fuel sending unit float rises, and a variable resistor changes the resistance in the electrical current running to the gauge so it reads full.
Why is there no water coming out of the engine?
If no water is coming out, then the water intake may be blocked and the engine is not getting enough water to keep it cool. Unblock the intake, and allow engine to cool before restarting it.
