Can a misfire be caused by a valve adjustment problem?
I’m going to do a compression test on Monday, to see if the problem really is mechanical. If it is, any idea whether a misfire could be caused by a valve adjustment problem, and if so, I’ve never adjusted valves before… if compression is fine then that rules out the valves, right, and I should focus on fuel or spark.
How can I tell if my vacuum valve is leaking?

How does ” bad valve’s ” cause a misfire?
2G misfire codes are a pain in the ass. After we installed Brian Crower 272’s in my buddy’s 2G, he constantly got random misfire codes (I’m guessing due to the excessive overlap) until he bought DSMLink. If the valves aren’t sealing combustion gases in the cylinders, obviously it will cause a misfire because of poor combustion.

What should I do about my Vortec misfire valve?
Tomorrow the plan is to pull all the plugs for visual inspection of plugs and wires, do a dry and wet compression test. If the problem is compression but the bottom end is fine (as in, wet compression test is similar to dry) then I could pull the valve cover.
