Can a Grand Am GT speaker be replaced?
Great speaker replacement but HORRIBLE manufacturer packaging. One of the speakers in my ’03 Grand Am GT (Monsoon system) had been rattling for a while and I knew it needed to be replaced. Amazon had these for the cheapest around and it is a direct replacement speaker and it fit perfect.

Obviously you can buy much more expensive speakers to “pimp out” your audio system, but this was just a direct replacement for my mom’s 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. The original rear speakers had dry rotted and were starting to sound pretty bad.

Given the choices in 2 ohm speakers, I opted to stay factory. Say what you will but these speakers sound very good with this system. The Monsoon system with the older GM line is specific in it’s application. It apparently has a power amp within the system and is using 2 ohm resistance in the speakers.
