My Saab 9-3 gushes out coolant when I park it. Doesn’t seem to have any dribbly little leaks either when it is running or parked (but I’m not very observant). Doesn’t overheat. Dashboard says “Fill coolant”. The reservoir is empty.

Why is the coolant return hose in my car sagging?
It looks like a collapsing hose may be the culprit. The coolant return hose (from the reservoir to the radiator) is less than an inch in diameter, soft and flexible. The plastic clip that held it was broken, and the hose was sagging into the engine compartment and probably bending in ways that it was not intended.

Why is my Turbo leaking coolant into the exhaust?
I cannot really think of any other explanation for the coolant leak…. None of that would send coolant into the exhaust. There are no seals in the turbo that keep coolant out of the exhaust. If your turbo is really doing this, it would be dead. The center section would need to be seriously cracked.

Where does the coolant come from in a Saab?
I decided to take a deeper look, took the intake off and of course which only allowed me to get a endscope camera under the intake and sure enough I had coolant pooled in all the pools on the top of the block. So then I inspected further and noticed that the I had small drop of coolant coming from the reserve tank on the hose above the turbo.
Are there any recalls on Saab V6 Aeros?
They are notorious for leaking, and SAAB had a service recall on 2006 – 2009 V6 Aeros. https://www.saabcentral.com/forums/s…d.php?t=163133 Thanks for the reply so it’s looks like the leak is fixed.

What to do if your Saab vacuum line is leaking?
If you need more access to the lines close to the firewall you can move the main harness connector away, check my video on replacing the coolant bypass valve (coming soon) for instructions. Since I found a loose hose I was quickly able to diagnose and fix my boost leak problems.
How do you remove the Turbo from a Saab 9000?
Remove the 13mm bolt holding the steady bracket to the turbo. Using a 13mm ring spanner, remove the four nuts securing the turbo to the manifold and remove the turbo. On water-cooled turbos, disconnect and remove the upper coolant pipe. Ensure all the downpipe studs are fully screwed into the turbo.
What happens when a coolant bypass valve fails?
When you turn of the ignition, the vaccuum tube is no longer active and the valve is turned on by default. If you open the top of a faulty Bypass Valve (which is easy to do) you will see that there is a rubber diaphragm with a pin in centre that is activated (lifted) by the vacuum. This opens up passage of hot coolant to the heater.
Why is my Ford 4.0 SOHC coolant leaking?
This is very similar for most of the 4.0 Ford V6 motors. The thermostat housing is a 3 piece plastic unit (Plastic, stupid!) that is glued together. The glue eventually fails, and youll start leaking coolant slowly or rapidly.
Why does my car have low coolant levels?

What to do about oil leak in Saab 900?
Many SAAB’s develop leaks at the crankshaft oil seals. Repair involves replacing those seals. The parts are cheap, but there’s a lot of labor involved. See how I tackled the rear crankshaft oil seal, and then discovered that was only part of the problem.
