Why does my car make a weird noise when I turn the wheel?

Even if you turn the wheels when on a hoist and you dont hear any noise, that doesnt mean it isnt the brakes rubbing. When you put the car on the ground and put a load on the vehicle, everything changes. To me, if the problem was NOT happening before, based on the vid you posted noise, I would say brake interference/warp.

Why does my car squeak when I turn the steering wheel?

Ball joints are used when the joint must be able to move in multiple plans such as rotating and moving up and down. For example, the joint at the end of your lower control arm that connects to the steering knuckle needs to move up and down as the spring compresses, but also turn as you turn the steering wheel.

Why does my car squeak when I idle the engine?

It could be a fan belt that is dried out from engine heat and high mileage. Confirm the diagnosis by spraying a tiny bit of belt dressing from a spray can (don’t drown the belt, just spray a tiny bit of dressing on it) with the engine idling. If the squeaking stops, you have a worn out belt. The belt dressing is not a fix]

Why does my suspension make a squeaking noise?

Worn out bushings cause more movement which in return causes those squeaking noises as well as incorrect suspension geometry. If you suspect a squeaking bushing, try spraying a small amount of lubricant on the bushings to see if the noise goes away temporarily. If it does, consider replacing the bushing.

Why does my car squeak when I turn the wheel?

Contaminated steering fluid is another reason why your car squeaks when turning. When the oil is dirty, it can’t lubricate the steering gear, causing the wheel bearings to wear out. In effect, the steering wheel exerts too much pressure and friction, damaging the steering wheel pump at the same time.

Why does my car make a grinding noise when I drive?

Wheel Bearing Failure In some cases, this squealing noise may be due to a worn out axle or wheel bearing. The bearings act as a buffer between the wheel and axle and when they wear out, there is friction, leading to squealing. If the problem is ignored for long, the wheel bearing noise will transform from being a squeal to a grinding sound.

Why do my brake pads make a squealing sound?

When the pads have their upper surface scraped, the metal underneath is exposed, which causes the squealing when they come in contact with other surfaces. Stuck pins in brake caliper assembly can also cause a squealing sound. Get the brake system checked thoroughly for any such problems. Go for high quality brake pads which last longer.

Why does my power steering pump make a squeaking noise?

Some power steering pumps will work fine for a long time even if they make noise. The squeaking noise when you get in, combine with your shop saying you need a new control arm sounds like the bushing on your control arm could be worn out causing a metal on metal sound when your suspension moves.
