Why does my Arctic Cat not take throttle?
2005 arctic cat atv 400 idles good will not take throttle even when warm. cleaned carb, drain fuel, serviced with new fuel, cleaned fuel valve. has auto choke could the choke be stuck on? Electric coke heats up when running also. It will run at high rpm if you manage to play with throttle and get lucky.
What happens when you give Arctic Cat 500 gas?
Arctic cat 500 dies when you give it gas but idles fine! It idles fine but chokes out as soon as you give it gas….no matter how slow or fast you try to engage the throttle. I have removed and cleaned all parts and jets in the carb (twice) and put it back together using the online diagram.
What should I do if my Arctic Cat ATV wont run?
Make sure your getting steady fuel flow to carburetor. remove the air filter and see if it runs now. Then partially cover the back of carb and see if the quad will rev up now. Then if it doesnt, mist fuel into the carburetor and see if it will now. These should give us something to work with.
What is the pilot jet on an Arctic Cat?
The pilot jet is a SMALL orifice jet (made of brass) in the body of the carb that regulates the flow of gas at idle and slower speeds.. it is crucial for acceleration of the engine.. if you do not know where it is/how to remove it/how to clean it AND its corresponding passages you will never get the carb “clean”!!
